Letting Go

48″ x 48″

Stretched Canvas

“Letting Go” is an exploration of transformation, healing, and the fluid nature of time. The ocean plays a central role in this piece, with waves symbolizing the ebb and flow of life’s challenges. Time is not linear here but portrayed as liquid, dissolving into translucent layers of paint that shift and blur like fading memories. These layers contain delicate cursive writing—traces of past sorrow, pain, and personal struggle—that sink deep beneath the surface of the painting, slowly giving way to light.

At the heart of the work are large, grounded rocks, which stand as symbols of stability and resilience. They represent moments when life requires strength to weather challenges, allowing us to anchor ourselves amidst uncertainty. The transparency within the painting mirrors the process of healing—how we must first confront and release what no longer serves us in order to invite joy and renewal.

In my own journey, this piece reflects the power of letting go: choosing to surrender what weighs us down to the rhythm of life’s waves, so we can discover new horizons. “Letting Go” asks the viewer to experience time not as something that erases, but as something that transforms—each moment another layer in the evolution of the soul.
