Nancy Joyce creates contemporary abstract landscapes inspired by the light, color, and open horizons of Baja California Sur. Her work captures the essence of sky, ocean, and desert—bringing a sense of calm, brightness, and spaciousness into modern interiors.
Originally from Canada, Nancy began drawing and painting at a young age and went on to study design, graduating from a three-year fine art program in London, Ontario in 1988. She spent 18 years working as a digital artist in advertising agencies and design firms, developing a strong foundation in composition, color, and visual storytelling.
A pivotal moment came when Nancy was diagnosed with macular degeneration and told she would lose her vision. Determined to take a different path, she focused on natural healing—studying nutrition and later graduating as an acupuncturist of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Through this work, ionized water and lifestyle changes, she successfully restored the majority of her vision by 2014.
This experience marked a turning point. Nancy chose to simplify her life, and move to Mexico full-time—following a long-held vision of living and creating in a warm, natural environment.
Today, she lives and works in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, where the surrounding landscape directly informs her work. Her paintings are known for their luminous palettes, layered textures, and sense of openness—qualities that make them especially well-suited for contemporary homes, boutique hotels, and wellness spaces.
Working in oils, cold wax, acrylic, and mixed media, Nancy creates both large-scale statement pieces and smaller works. Her paintings are designed to complement modern interiors while adding a feeling of ease, light, and connection to place.
Nancy’s work is collected by private clients and is an excellent fit for interior designers, real estate developers, and hospitality projects seeking original artwork that enhances atmosphere and elevates space.
Studio Casa Perla is open to visitors in Todos Santos, and Nancy also works directly with clients and design professionals on commissions and curated selections.
